The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery makes 2011 predictions.

Discover the top 10 cosmetic surgery predictions for 2011, made by The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS).

New You Magazine - Trend Spotting: 2011

ASAPS is the leading national organization of board-certified plastic surgeons who specialize in cosmetic surgery. After you read their cosmetic surgery predictions for 2011, find out who Eliza, the editor of New You, would recommend as a specialist for her own mother!
ASAPS’ top three predictions are:

  • Increase in the number of facelifts and other facial rejuvenation surgeries
  • Growth of the use of cosmetic injectables (such as Botox)
  • Increase in body contouring surgeries performed after dramatic weight loss

Here is the full list of ASAPS’ predictions for cosmetic surgery in 2011.

New You’s editor named doctors she would trust with her own mother’s cosmetic injectable procedure, and her list included Dr. Joel Schlessinger.

The New You article points out two dangers when considering cosmetic injectable procedures:

  • ‘discount injectables’ bought offshore
  • procedures performed by “untrained or poorly trained practitioners”

The article then reads: “Let me be perfectly frank with you: There is no such thing as a ‘deal’ on injectables. If market competition among manufacturers drive national retail prices down, that’s one thing. If you’re getting an unbelievable ‘discount,’ take my advice: Don’t even go there. This is an industry where you’ve got to realize that it’s your FACE we’re talking about. Better to have a few wrinkles than disfigurement. (It happens!)”

Four doctors are then recommended as ones experienced enough to send your own mother to them – including Joel Schlessinger.
