Joel Schlessinger MD shares tricks for your routine when you are without your skin care products

More than likely, you’ve found yourself caught somewhere without your arsenal of skin care and beauty products and are in need of ways to freshen up your look. If you find yourself in this situation, there are several common products you can use to deal with your second-day skin and hair. The article “Morning After Beauty Fixes (Using HIS Products!)” features expert Joel Schlessinger MD and his tips for refreshing your appearance.

There are some products that you can share, reveals Joel Schlessinger MD.

If there is a face wash available, use it. Cleansing with any type of facial cleanser is better than using regular soap. A fresh, clean face will help you look more awake and well-rested. To remove stuck-on makeup such as eyeliner and mascara, use a dab of lotion on your finger or a Q-tip and gently massage the area.

You can also use a man’s hair care product for a quick way to style your strands. A pomade or wax will help tame hair but be sure to only use a small amount to avoid a greasy or weighed-down look.

Common household items can also refresh your look, explains Joel Schlessinger MD.

“You can create a makeshift toothbrush by wrapping a damp paper towel around your finger and squeezing some toothpaste on top,” says Joel Schlessinger MD. Mouthwash also goes a long way in refreshing your breath.

Baby powder can be sprinkled on your scalp to absorb oil or lightly brushed onto your complexion to reduce shine. Raid his kitchen and look for olive oil. This product can tame frizzy hair and brows to create a more polished look. Vaseline can also be used to hydrate dry strands or darken lashes if you’re without your mascara.
